In 2020, many companies underwent a digital transformation as technology became more pervasive. In 2021, the effects of a pandemic continued to impact the world.

What will happen in 2022 in the wake of these events? We can only assume. However, we have a few pretty good ideas about how the future is shaping up. If you're curious to find out what our predictions are, read on to find out!

5G WiFi

The first thing on the list for 2022 is WiFi. It's about a particular kind of WiFi, too. The next generation of WiFi is called 5G WiFi, and it's already become available in some places.

What makes 5G WiFi different is that rather than covering a very large area, it's designed to cover a smaller and more specific area. This means that you can have a stronger signal in your living room than you could have with standard WiFi.

This is because, as a technology, 5G WiFi can offer a lot more than just standard WiFi. For example, 5G WiFi will allow for more consistent speeds, more devices to connect to the one router, and it will also be able to connect more objects to the Internet. By 2022, 5G WiFi is expected to be everywhere.

Semiconductors

The semiconductor industry is huge, and it's only getting bigger. In fact, as you've probably noticed, it seems like every year, or so there's a new kind of smartphone, tablet, or other device that comes out, and it's faster, stronger, and more powerful than the previous year's device.

Now, it is true that they still aren't perfect. They're still improving. In the future, it's expected that they will be even better than they are now. And we're sure that'll be incredibly helpful as AI continues to become more popular and as our products improve.

AI

Artificial intelligence is one of the fastest-growing technologies in the entire world. While it's certainly controversial, no one can deny that it's not also incredibly helpful. Artificial intelligence is so beneficial and so important that we have a prediction that it will have a major effect on the future of technology.

New Privacy Rules

As the world becomes more and more connected, so too do our privacy laws. After pressure from companies, governments, and other entities, new privacy rules are anticipated to be implemented in 2022. These new rules will allow for companies and governments to keep track of their citizens, but they will also help protect the citizens from the companies and governments.

Smart Living

Smart living is a term that has been thrown around quite a bit in recent years. It means that, in the future, we'll live in a world where everything is connected to the Internet, but it goes much further than that.

For example, your house will be aware of you when it's your turn to take out the trash and will know that it's time for you to take out the trash when you're about to go to bed. Your house will also know your schedule, so when it's time for you to leave for work, your home knows to have your coffee ready for you.

This, of course, isn't to say that this is possible in 2022. However, it is thought that smart living will become incredibly popular in the future, so it's a good idea to start preparing for it now.

The Bottom Line

While these may seem like wild predictions, we can be sure that some kind of change will be made in all of these technologies over the next five years. Whether it's large or small, it's sure to have an impact on the future of our lives. In our opinion, it will be a pretty great future, but that's only because it's the future. There will probably be some setbacks, problems, and a lot of success.
